My wife and I are new-comers to Lake Cowichan. We enjoy the paradise in which we live, and until this morning wondered why so many citizens are critical of their town council.

Remember when the Town of Lake Cowichan’s elected officials waffled back and forth on the Centennial Park camping issue, effectively angering members of the public that sat on either side of the argument?

Yet another complaint from Elaine McGinn about noise at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena.

I have been a constant critic of our local council. In my opinion they lack vision and show a deplorable lack of concern for the economic depression in Lake Cowichan.

The Cowichan River has benefitted us all, in some form, at some point in our lives. The most obvious beneficiaries are those that have floated down the Cowichan River in tubes, followed by those directly or indirectly involved in the local tourism industry.

Thank you to the RCMP for their presence on the lake last weekend, and for recognizing that there are a few boats that do not comply to the Small Vessels Act (amendments).
